If you want to get sober and are thinking about coming here, please ignore any bad reviews about this place. It is rated one of the top treatment centers in the world FOR A REASON and the treatment you will receive here will reflect that. People who don't want to get better and cannot accept the realities of being in a treatment center are the ones who find things to complain about. The doctors and counselors here are some of the smartest people I've ever met and some are known worldwide. If you don't live in Minnesota, I'd highly suggest travelling to get here because the facility and treatment you will receive is incomparable to the average rehab. I'm forever grateful I got the opportunity to come to Hazelden. Being an alumni is an absolute privilege and a HUGE advantage over most other people in recovery. Don't let bad reviews make you worried because this is a TOP, FAMOUS, HIGHLY RATED TREATMENT CENTER.

Place is gr8 I'm 16 an i see how they treat the older fellas like children but it was helpful for them in the meantime personally I think it is for younger folks. It is 12-25

It's very peer driven which personally was not for me however I will say the women that does spiritual therapy was amazing and understood what I was going through. I did however relapse after leaving with alcohol but am still sober today from my DOC. This place I would say personally for me at 21 I felt was not a young adult program but I did gain some good incite for a future facility that I hope to go to. I did like that I was expected to do certain tasks each day and continue to do the 12 steps. Some people strive with peer based programs however I did not.

This place is professional and knows their stuff. What we experienced at Family Week alone has led me to write this review. Anyone that says they didn't stay sober after attending treatment at this facility needs to own that themselves. They give you the tools and the understanding to do just that. Very professional, clean, TOP NOTCH facility. I have another daughter that went to a different facility and what we experienced there compared to what we experienced here is just not even comparable. High class, professional, devoted, caring staff. I have seen such a positive change in my daughter. Now, this is not to say that we won't ever have problems or a relapse. I am hoping not, but I am speaking on what I have experienced with Hazelden. Impressive!

The food is good. Staff are friendly, perhaps too friendly, one of them groped me. My counselor did not schedule me to do step two or three in my 28 day visit. I quit early, and found sobriety in a program at teen challenge. The facility is very nice. But when I wanted to leave, my possessions were withheld from me. Car keys, house keys, cell phone, wallet, money, I was treated like a child. If you are a young adult, I would urge you to consider the center city location.
